God’s Own County

Andrew, a good friend and former colleague, is an award-winning journalist and author who has been walking the Yorkshire coast for more than 35 years. This book sets the stage for adventure by meticulously guiding readers along the Yorkshire Coast Path from Redcar, south to Bridlington. With his vivid descriptions and insightful commentary, Andrew paints a vivid picture of the diverse landscapes, rugged cliffs, charming fishing villages, and pristine beaches that make up this breathtaking route.

His attention to detail and ability to capture each location’s essence shines throughout the book. He seamlessly weaves historical anecdotes, local folklore, and personal experiences into the narrative, transporting readers into the heart of Yorkshire’s rich heritage and vibrant coastal communities. From the iconic Whitby Abbey to the magnificent Flamborough Head, he ensures that every landmark and hidden gem along the path is given the attention it deserves.
